After two days of heavy raining we went on a tour on Bali. First we went to see a waterfall.
Then we went to a place where they make wooden sculptures. Really amazing what they can do with the wood. And they are making them by hand, no machines.
Then it was time for an old temple. Dating back to 900 AD it was really well in shape. Only discovered as late as in the 19th century.
After that we went up to the mountains, to Penelokan and Kintamani. There is a fantastic view over the volcano Mt. Batur and the lake Batur. Stunning views but too much harassment from people that tries to sell you stuff.
Lunch and the down to a place where they had “poop” coffee. It is an animal that is called Luwak that eat the coffee beans and then they take care of the beans after the animal has digested it. Not very much to taste but they had other coffee and tea that was really good. This is really a tourist trap since the prices where really high.
After that we went to see the famous rice paddies. Wherever there is a tourist attraction there are also a lot of shops and street vendors. Despite that there was really nice views.
Then we went to Ubud and the monkey-forest in Ubud. What I remember from the monkey-forest was that is was just some monkeys in a temple. Now it was a lot more than that. The monkey forest is quite big and has some things to bee seen.
And Ubud has grown very much on 20 years. I couldn’t see anything that I remembered.
Summary: It was a nice trip to see some of things that are famous in Bali.
